Planning Alternate Professional Learning (PL)

Outline: Interactive Video Creation with Adobe Captivate

Overview

The plan outlines an 8-week intensive course designed to empower educators in creating engaging interactive video content using Adobe Captivate. The program aims to enhance student learning outcomes and foster innovation in digital content creation. It follows key principles of effective professional development, including significant duration with ongoing support, implementation assistance, active learning approaches, modeling of best practices, and discipline-specific content. The course structure includes weekly synchronous sessions, asynchronous learning activities, and a 6-month follow-up support period. Participants engage in hands-on workshops, project-based learning, and collaborative problem-solving sessions. The program emphasizes peer learning through professional learning communities (PLCs) and a peer mentoring system. Content is tailored to various grade levels and subject areas, from elementary to higher education. The instructional team includes a lead instructor, subject matter experts, technical support staff, and instructional coaches. Assessment methods include project-based evaluations, peer reviews, and long-term impact studies. The plan also addresses resource requirements, sustainability strategies, and continuous improvement processes to ensure long-term success and scalability of the program.
